Jake Simon
Jake was born in Omaha, Nebraska but soon after, moved to Menlo Park, California. He started playing soccer for what was then called the MP Strikers at age seven for over a decade. That team became one of the best in NorCal with close to a dozen players eventually playing at the college level. Jake was recruited to play soccer at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas where his team enjoyed five consecutive winning seasons and made three NCAA tournament appearances.
Jake’s favorite soccer memories include his undefeated 2021-22 regular season at Trinity where the team went 17-0-1. His other favorite memory is being in attendance at Avaya Stadium when Chris Wondolowski made MLS history by scoring his 178th career goal, becoming the all-time MLS scoring leader.
As a coach, Jake loves building positive relationships with players and treasures seeing individuals not just grow as soccer athletes but more importantly as human beings. Jake just graduated college in December and will be in his first year at Alpine Strikers. Before this, he has assisted at other top clubs and was a volunteer assistant at Central Catholic High School. He is in the process of getting his D license.
Jake’s favorite players include Andres Iniesta before his retirement and recently, Oleksandr Zinchenko.In his free time, Jake loves to exercise, watch his beloved Arsenal play in the premiere league, and spend time with family and friends.
