About

Gino Pucillo

Gino was born and raised in San Francisco, where he played club soccer for the SF Vikings and high school soccer at Saint Ignatius College Prep. He attended college at San Jose State University, where he played soccer and graduated with his degree in Kinesiology.

Gino’s most memorable soccer experiences include winning his first soccer tournament as a youth player, playing on the same coed team as his wife Abby, and watching and celebrating two last minute USA World Cup goals: Landon Donovan’s goal vs Algeria in the 2010 World Cup and Abby Wambach’s goal vs Brazil in the 2011 World Cup.

Gino began coaching in 2001 with De Anza Force. He moved to the East Bay in 2003 and coached with Walnut Creek Soccer Club, serving as the Director of their youth program until he left for Alpine FC (eventually Alpine Strikers) in 2009. Gino has coached thousands of players and served as a Technical Director, Director of Pre-competitive Programs, and General Manager for Alpine Strikers FC. His passion is working with younger players and helping them develop their love for the game while improving their confidence and ability with the ball. Gino holds his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma as well as his NSCAA Youth Diploma.

Gino’s favorite soccer players are Fabio Cannavaro and Marco Verratti. His favorite teams to cheer for are the US Mens and Women’s National Teams, as well as all teams in Strikers!

Gino’s hobbies include watching sports, spending time with his family, traveling, and enjoying a lazy weekend in his backyard.
