Alpine and Stanford Merger

Has spring finally sprung? An unprecedented amount of rain early this season causing field closures has really tested our players (and all of us). But thanks to the perseverance of those players, as well as the creativity of our coaches and admin team and the support of our parents, the spring soccer season is in full swing. The sun has shined through and the fields are filled with aspiring young Lionel Messis and Alex Morgans! Families are renewed from Spring Break adventures and we are only a few short weeks from Spring Tryouts for Stanford Strikers FC!

Stanford Strikers NPL Club Status Achieved

NorCal Premier Soccer has just announced that Stanford Strikers FC has been granted provisional club-wide (boys and girls) NPL status! This is an important step in growing the quality of our programs and meeting the needs of our many dedicated players. Our club will now have access to NorCal’s highest level of play. This is also a great challenge to our club since offering an avenue to high-level play means we need to up our game as coaches, administrators, and club leaders. At the same time, we must renew our community commitment. We will be the club for all girls and boys, from our youngest beginners just sampling sports to our most ambitious players who have dreams that extend beyond club soccer.

To help us meet that challenge, I’m also pleased to announce that the Board has approved the hiring of two new Technical Directors, one for the girls’ programs and one for the boys’ programs. The new Technical Directors will work closely with Director of Soccer Vava Marques and our on-the-field leadership team. The primary focus of the new TD’s will be to work with our 9v9 and 11v11 programs, guide our coaching staff, develop training programs for our players, coach top teams and ensure high-quality coaching methodologies are being implemented. It’s an exciting step forward for our club and will help support our teams, particularly as we compete in top leagues like the NPL and ECNL-RL. We aim to have the new Technical Directors on board this summer.

You will start to see information about tryouts for the new Stanford Strikers FC in some school newsletters, via club social media and banners around town, but the best advertisement for our newly merged club and our teams is through word-of-mouth. Please spread the word to friends, neighbors, classmates and anyone you think would enjoy being part of our community club.

Go, Strikers!
